Teen Duari Farmhouse

A rapidly growing city needs a fresh breath of air and tranquility, now and then. I have witnessed Hyderabad's massive growth in the last 5 years, the good, the bad, and also the ugly.

Moving from Mumbai, Hyderabad was the most pleasant experience then. I used to love driving within the city with its broad decongested roads with green trees and boulevards. But that now appears a dream lost to the concrete jungle that this city is growing into.

While most new buildings are mere cubicles without the need to even consider imbibing an elementary form of art, the old heritage structures do give a respite to the hungry eyes.

In an attempt to revive Art and Architecture, Architect and Builder, Palash Bagchi, started a project in the vicinity of the city, yet completely engulfed into the rural landscape. While the sky touching towers of the city are visible from the farmhouse, the separation in between is created by the vast and beautiful Gandipet lake.

Witness the village life first hand by involving yourself in farming and tilling the land with bullocks. Take a nature walk among the green paddy fields, sit beside the Osman Sagar Lake without the rush of overcrowded tourists, or just relax under the pergola and watch different varieties of chirping birds right next to you in the tropical landscaped gardens of Teen Duari.
