Melbourne city has so many places to visit and explore, after spending few days in the city I decided to drive to Philip Island. It’s around 2-3 hours’ drive from the city and a perfect getaway to explore the nature and wildlife.

Here are some of moments in my video :

We started around 8 AM in a relaxed manner as the wildlife park opens at 10 AM so we thought of enjoying the drive and scenery on the way.

We stopped at the Brighton beach on the way, which has the amazing view of Sea with colorful house shaped boxes spreading around the coastline. This makes a perfect set for Instagram moments :)

FYI : The parking is paid by per hour at the beach. So, make sure you buy the ticket from the machine and place it on the dashboard of your car. We missed the parking sign in excitement of going to the beach, which resulted in fine of 80 AUD later on :(FYI : The parking is paid by per hour at the beach. We gathered infinite number of pictures and videos before we resumed our journey. The bird- view footage looks memorizing :):)

We reached Phillip Island Nature Park near Melbourne and were glad to see free parking. LOL

You have to buy an entry ticket of 19 AUD per adult, which allows you to enter the wildlife park and get handful of food for the Kangaroos.

We were surprised to see so many Kangaroos and wallabies roaming around. They were friendly and were approaching the tourists, looking for food.

It is a wonderful experience to feed them and touch the Kangaroos :)

Along with the Kangaroos, you can also see lot of other animals like Dingo, Snakes, Ducks, Koalas(though only 2 were there) and wombat etc.

The Philips island is known mainly for the Penguins Parade which happens after sun set, but due to limited time we decided to skip the same. We have already seen some penguins for free at the St. Kilda peer. Penguins have a colony on the St Kilda peer so they returned daily back to there homes after the sun set.

While returning on the way we had a stopover for the lunch (well actually lunch + evening snacks) at the Chocolate Factory. The chocolate factory had good variety, but I was little disappointed as to be honest I expected more to it.

The good point was that I ordered Rice with Chicken curry which was surprisingly good as this was the only dish I had which was closest to the Indian food during my 5 days trip to Melbourne :)

Over all its a worth getaway for 1 day away from the city, i would suggest to take time out for Penguin parade too. I hope you visit Melbourne soon and explore the beauty in and around the city :)
