TARGET TAJPUR

Tripoto
21st Aug 2015

Smitten by the wanderlust bug, we again hit the road, this time TARGET TAJPUR. Took the 12857/Tamralipta Express from Howrah at 06:40 in the morning, we got down at Ramnagar at around 09:45. Driver Montu (8926851678) was there to greet us with his Maruti Omni. It took us around 20 minutes to travel the distance from Ramnagar to Tajpur. As we entered the hotel premises, manager Manas babu (9163683626) came out and greeted us with a warm smile. The pre allocated rooms were readily available, and the check-in process was smooth too. The rooms were spacious, full of light and air. We couldn’t hold us for more, as the longing to see the sea was already filled. We put down our baggage and set out for the beach. Goodness gracious, the view that unfurled in front of us was indeed splendid. The next two days were spent in complete pampering mood. The locals, like Shankar (7797242827), the little shop owner, were so much cordial. We rambled through the beach, had a great bath and a fine body massage from Haripada (9002302736). Evenings were splendid, sitting in front of the vast ocean, having chicken pakoda, and warm tea. On our second day, we again called for Montu, and visited Junput, Dariyapur Light House, Kapal Kundala Mandir of Rishi Bankim’s novel fame, and Petuaghat Fishing Harbour. The two nights stay was even more elated by the sumptuous food, and the warmth in the behaviours of the staffs. The delectable foods were more than anything to tickle our taste buds. But all good things come to an end. So with heavy hearts, we said farewell to Tajpur. The people bid us goodbye with their ever warming smile. We came to Digha to take the 12848/Digha-Howrah AC Duronto Express, which brought us back to the city. So, if you want to break free from your busty schedule, and rejuvenate yourself with exquisite experience, I’d suggest you to give the hotel a ring beforehand pack your bags and set out for Tajpur. Yes, it’s really a Taj (crown) among the beaches of Bay of Bengal.

NB: Please be sure to carry odomos or other insect repellents. And also be prepared for power cuts, when air conditioning won’t work.
