My journey began with a flight into Kansas City, Missouri, where I rented a car and hit the road. My first stop was the iconic Gateway Arch in St. Louis, which is the tallest arch in the world. It was a breathtaking sight to behold, and I couldn't resist taking a ride to the top to get a panoramic view of the city.
After that, I headed to the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in Hannibal, which is a must-visit for any literature lover. It was fascinating to see where Mark Twain grew up and to learn about his life and work. I even got to ride on a steamboat on the Mississippi River, just like he did in his books.
Next, I made my way to the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, which is a beautiful park with crystal-clear springs and winding rivers. I went on a canoe trip down the Current River and saw some incredible wildlife, including bald eagles and otters.
Another highlight of my trip was visiting the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence. It was fascinating to learn about the life and presidency of Truman, who was a beloved figure in Missouri. I even got to see his famous "The Buck Stops Here" sign, which was a powerful symbol of his leadership.
I also spent some time in the charming town of Hermann, which is known for its wineries and German heritage. I sampled some delicious wines and explored the town's historic district, which is filled with beautiful old buildings and quaint shops.
Throughout my trip, I was struck by the kindness and hospitality of the people in Missouri. Everyone I met was friendly and welcoming, and I felt right at home. I also loved the state's rich history and culture, which is evident in its museums, landmarks, and festivals.

As my trip to Missouri continued, I made my way to Branson, which is known for its entertainment and live music shows. I attended a performance at the famous Dolly Parton's Stampede, where I was treated to a thrilling show filled with horses, stunts, and comedy. It was an unforgettable experience, and I couldn't help but tap my feet along to the catchy country music tunes.
Next, I visited the Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, which is a historic site where one of the first battles of the Civil War took place. The park is a somber reminder of the sacrifices made by soldiers on both sides of the conflict, and it was humbling to walk in the footsteps of those who fought for their beliefs.
I also made a stop at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, which is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the United States. The garden boasts an impressive collection of plants from around the world, and I was amazed by the beautiful Japanese garden and the exotic flora in the Climatron greenhouse.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Silver Dollar City amusement park, which is set in the picturesque Ozark Mountains. The park is a celebration of Missouri's frontier heritage, and I was thrilled to ride the wooden roller coaster and watch craftsmen at work in the Blacksmith Shop.
As my trip drew to a close, I reflected on all of the amazing experiences I had in Missouri. From the stunning natural scenery to the rich history and culture, this state has so much to offer. I was grateful for the opportunity to explore it and to meet so many friendly and welcoming people along the way.
