After cutting down all the expenses from past 2 months, i finally collected the amount to spend on new year . First thought is to celebrate it with friends and spend on the luxury , but i give a chance to my first solo trip.
Keeping the budget in mind i decided a 6 day trip to Nainital with budget of 5k .
Booked train tickets in advance and youth hostel in nainital, and a Pg in haldwani.
On 26-12-2018 , at 4 :30 pm i board the train Uttaranchal sampark kranti express from delhi to Haldwani ,cost of ticket is Rs 110.
Reached Haldwani By 11 pm checked in to the FRIENDS PG near mangal padhav , haldwani
A 3 day stay cost is Rs 500 only. So after a 6hr sitting journey in the train ( as its only a seater train 3*3) i really got tired .
But no regrets ;-) !
So i got up early in the morning by 6 am and ready at 7 am by doing all the morning routine
Directly head towards the bus station, i wants to visit mukteshwar that is about 65 km from haldwani , did breakfast near the bus stand amd board the bus till mukteshwar at 8 Am . There is only 1 direct bus to mukteshwar , that comes back from Mukteshwar at 3 pm .
The bus took about 5 hr to reach Bhatelia , from Bhatelia Mukteshwar is about 6 km , the local taxis are there charge Rs 20 per person to mukteshwar else you can do the trek like locals.
After reaching Mukteshwar , i was mesmerized by the Beauty of the area , Clean oxygen , clear sky . Temple's bell are echoing at all over area !
So i quickly visit the temple , and head towards chauli ki jaali about 1.5 km from the temple .
In Between the route i taste the best rajma chawal of my life.
From chauli ki jaali you can view the nanda devi range more clearly . You can do Lots of adventure activities at there like ropeway (Rs 500 for 100 mtr ).
I stepped down from the Mukteshwar at 2:30 pm and board the same bus at 3 pm and reached haldwani by 7 pm.
Dinner and good sleep !
Day 2 ends with the great memories.
I waked up late on 28-12-18 , that is day 3 of the trip , so plan is to visit bhimtaal and Nakuchiyataal that is about 30 km from haldwani. So i board the bus at 11 am (Rs 50) and reached bhimtaal by 1 pm . The lake is beautiful and biggest in the region.
After the whole round of the lake , i rested and ate maggi (Rs 40) . Thats what most easily available food , after finishing the maggi i started my trek to Nakuchiyataal about 6 km from bhimtaal .
Taxis are available but they charge high for the lake . So i give up taxi's plan and started trekking , after a 1 hour of trek i reached there , lessed crowded and more beautiful , loved the lake eat bun omelette (Rs 50). And started my journey to the home , so after covering few mtrs i stop for Hitchike , I thought lets try and see and in a minute i found a lift till bhimtaal. Reached in few minutes thanks to the person .
After reaching haldwani , i quickly got the sharing taxi(Rs 50) till Haldwani.
Dinner and A sleep!
So last day at haldwani , got up early in the morning packed the bag and went out to visit the kainchi dhaam , a ashram of neem karori baba In between the haldwani - almoda route , next to Bhowali around 50-60 km from haldwani Costing about Rs 65 .
It was a beautiful temple for meditation surrounded by mountains , and a small stream flowing adjacent to it makes it more beautiful.
After spending 1 hour around it i quickly board the bus coming from almoda till haldwani (Rs 65) . After reaching haldwani ,collected my bag and quickly checked out from the pg at 2:30 pm and started my journey towards Nainital , boarded a bus at 3 pm from Bus station ( ₹ 55) it was a 2.5 hour journey from haldwani to Nainital which covers 45 kms . The route is comprised of scenics Beauty , as we move upwards temperature falling down .
After reaching nainital bus station at 5:30 pm, its a time of dawn , nainital looks more beautiful at dawn , and temperature is about 5°C at that time , cold breeze force me to wear a thick coat !
After reaching nainital , clicked some pictures of lake and mine ;-) , and started my journey towards my youth hostel situted about 3 kms from the bus station at tallital

After reaching nainital , clicked some pictures of lake and mine ;-) , and started my journey towards my hostel situated about 3 kms from the bus station at tallital , i took a rickshaw till mallital (₹ 20) which covers half of my distance and also covers the full lake. I started walking towards my hostel , i thought it will be a easy walk but the destiny has own plans , it took 45 minutes to reach hostel comprising 4 times rest .
Finally reached at hostel, by 7 pm checked in and went for dinner . At 8 i went for sleep after a long years .
On 30 December , i woked up at 6 am feels very energetic and refresh after 10 hr good sleep , at night when i checked it was about -1°C celsius , somehow i managed to get a good sleep !
A 3 night at Youth hostel costs ₹270 (₹90 for students, ₹120 for others ) breakfast at hostel costs ₹40 , lunch and dinner costs ₹60 . A pretty good in a such a reasonable rates .
After breakfast by 8 am , i went out of hostel to Start my trek till Himalayan view point and Naini hill ( also called china peak or cheena peak ) , with the help of gmaps i reached at Himalayan ????️????️ view point , as the weather is clear the nanda devi range looks clear , trishul peak, nanda devi peak and panchahchuli peak are clearly visible from the point .
Spending 30 min. At the point i started my journey to the peak !
The Naini peak trek is a steep trek of about 3 kms from the base , and the whole trek is a trek between forests. It tooks about 2 hour to reach at point, i was mesmerized by the beauty of the Himalayas as it looks more stunning from there , the bird eye view of whole Nainital , the mango shaped naini lake and whole area were treat to the eyes.
I stepped down from there to naini lake by 2 pm and reached Naini lake by 4 pm , spent the time of dawn near naina devi mandir , by eating corn ???? and drinking hot coffee .
By 8 i Started my back journey towards hostel .
Took my dinner at hostel and slept .
Last day of the year , and the last day of the trip
Woked up late in the morning , i was confused what to visit now already covered all near by spots , so i went for the high altitude zoo situated at the hill near tallitaal , entry fees is (₹ 100) per person , the zoo is quite small and few animals are there leopard , tiger , Himalayan bear, red panda and few more i don't remember all .
After zoo i went for a monastery , nainital's biggest monastery and it was a quite peacefull place, spend 1 hour monastery till dawn , clicked pictures and stepped down to the mall road . The road was crowded as hell , looks all the peoples of nainital were at the road .
I thought to spend the new year's eve here but i have to catch the train to home early morning at 1 Janaury from kathgodam .
So i drop the plan and went back to hostel . Eat dinner and slept .
That's how i celebrate new year's eve 2019.
Woked up at 5 am, checked out at 5:30 am and started my journey to Nainital bus station. To catch the bus till Kathgodam , thanks god i got a taxi to bus station (₹ 100) reached bus station by 5:50 boarded a bus till kathgodam , and reached Kathgodam by 7 Am reached station 1 hour and 30 mins early .
That's how a solo trip ends with lots of memories and valuable experiences !
