But to get here was a mission for us. Latvia is only small so we were unable to fly direct. Sleeping in Cologne Germany Airport awaiting this early morning departure to Cancun. The flight was 11hours (it was tough) we finally arrived at Cancun airport 5.30pm the following day. The sun was bright, the weather was perfect, hot and breezy in a mellow afternoon. We headed out to the exit to greet our shuttle bus which would take us to Green16 a little motel situated in Quintana Roo, a resort area of Cancun. The hotel wasn't a luxurious stay, by far, but to make this trip work, we must take on cheaper living (which is fine by me) £120 for 3 Nights. The first thing to do on our list was to locate Telcel to access the Internet to our phones. it's a little pricey but has lasted long and was crucial to our Mexico Trip.(all price information can be found at the bottom)

Anyone looking for a relaxing Caribbean cruise holiday should consider a cultural Cozumel cruise as it offers a real taste of Mexican life in a beautiful setting, with everything you could possibly wish for located on the small island. There are plenty of on-island tours to take advantage of, but the island is also small and safe enough for people to plan their own excursions and head off on a solo adventure. Deep Sea diving is a loved activity here. The historic sites and Mayan ruins are another reason to visit this island.

Day 2 (Playa del Carmen): I had booked the taxi through the hotel the night and the driver picked me up a 8:45 sharp for my 11:30 am flight to Cancun. The return taxi booked thorugh the hotel cost me only 180 pesos (~14 USD) I ended getting there pretty early, around 9:10 ish, as there was virtually no traffic getting there, being a lazy Sunday morning, as the driver said.

In today’s day and age, finding a good hotel is pretty easy, in fact, I found the Sol Caribbean Travel website after just a few seconds of googling, and managed to book a room five minutes later. However, choose the hotel wisely, because that’s where you’ll spend most of your time. My sister and I stayed at the Sunset Royal Marina, and if you were thinking about spending a couple of days in Cancun this summer, I highly recommend it. But enough about the accommodation, let’s talk about the good stuff. It’s hard to imagine that any place in the world has more adventure parks than Cancun. There, you will find more than a dozen parks advertising everything from kayaking and rappelling to ziplining and flying over water with a jetpack. My sister’s boyfriend (who visited Cancun the year before) recommended the Xplor Park, so we spent a day ziplining and exploring the underground caves. Also, the pizza was surprisingly delicious.

We’ve got to give it to the Mayans for their excellent taste in architecture, evident in the centuries-old temples. Overlooking dreamy beaches along a rugged coastline, Tulum’s ruins are reflective of its modern day outlook— stylish and smug. What once was a quiet, laid-back town has turned into a luxury destination replete with nightclubs, spas, yoga retreats, fine dining restaurants, and plush resorts. A thriving expat community—a stylish one at that—has descended upon the town in the last decade and built hotels and restaurants that have seamlessly blended with native Mexican styles. Before Tulum turns into an Ibiza, pack your Bohemian outfits and rush here.Best weather to visit from April to May and November to March.
