Hey Prashant, The places you can visit and things to do in Nainital are as follows.... 1. Boating:- You can go on a boat ride in Gondola boat or pedal boat for 210 and 150 rupees per hour respectively. See that it close by 6pm. 2. Shopping:- If you are a shopaholic then you can roam around in mall road for hours shop after shop. 3. Raj Bhavan:- It's free and easy to hop around Governors house and enjoy the Gothic style of architecture which resembles Buckingham palace of England. 4. Naini Devi temple:- This is a well known Shakthi peeths of Hindu religion and is open for people till 10 pm. 5. Eco cave gardens:- These cave gardens close by 5.30 pm, so if you can make yourself free for half an hour more you can cover this place also. Others are snow view point, tiffin top, Naini peak and many more.... And October is one of the best time in the year to visit Nainital ... The places you can visit in Ranikhet are:- Chaubatia Gardens :- 10 Kms from Ranikhet is a best place to visit with apple orchids and Apricots.... Haidakhan Temple :- Present 4 Kms from Ranikhet is believed to be made by Haidakhan who is believed to be re incarnation of Shiva.... Others are Ashiyana park, Rani Jheel, Mankameshwar Temple, and Jhoola Devi temple .... Happy Travelling!!!

Hi Prashant, Both Nainital and Ranikhet are flooded with amazing places to visit. Distance between both the destinations is around 56 km. The places/spots that can be visited will depend upon total days you are giving to each destination. Nainital: St. Jhon Church Wilderness, Tibetan Market & Naini Lake boating, Tiffin Top, Snow View Point from China Peak, Eco Cave Gardens, Khurpatal, Sariyatal, Nianital Zoo Ranikhet: Chaubatia Gardens, Haidakhan Temple, Jhula Devi Temple, Apple Garden, Tarikhet Village. I will suggest you to give atleast 2 days to each destination.

Nainital is full of beautiful destinations. Different Taals like Saattal, Bhimtal, Garud Tal, Nakuchiyatal n others are main attraction. If you love birding Pangot and Saattal are the ideal places. Governor House of Nainital is also a beautiful place to visit.
Other than this Himalay Darshan, temples like Ghodakhal, ChinaPeak from where we can see bird eye view of Nainilake are also.
