Pondicherry offers you pool of choices depending upon your interest. If you like to be at peaceful place I would suggest you to go Auroville or at Paradise beach. But if you like to be in people i would suggest Rock Beach. Both will not disappoint you in any manner.

1day is more than enough in pondy as Gandhi beach, vinayaka temple, local market n aurobindo ashram is all near by but the auroville ie d golden ball is far from d city... if possible plan fr mahabalipuram n travenqure....

Places to visit in Pondicherry are, Promenade, Bharati Park, Pondicherry Beach, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Raj Niwas, Auroville, French War Memorial, Ousteri Lake, Chunnambar Boathouse, Serenity Beach, Old lighthouse, ISKCON Pondicherry, Cafe Xtasi.

If Possible go for Auroville for a day and Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Auroville is just 20min drive from Puducherry.

You can plan a honeymoon trip or a solo trip or leisure vacation with your friends or family. Have a Funstay as you explore Pondicherry. Beaches There are many beaches. Paradise Beach, Auroville Beach, Promenade Beach, Karaikal Beach etc. are few of the famous beaches. Out of which Paradise beach is amazing according to me. In Paradise beach, you can see Crystal clear water and immaculate sands. Take a Ferry ride and explore its spectacular surroundings. There are a few interesting water sports to try. Swimming, beach volleyball, fishing etc. are some of the activities that keep you engaged. Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus It is a perfect example of Neo-Gothic architecture. It was built by French people back in 1908. You can also unwind in total tranquility. Auroville Auroville was built to welcome people from all over the world to live together. You can also find many people devoted their lives to serve others. Spend some time meditating and re-find yourself. Botanical Garden A wide variety of trees, birds adds charm to the place. Once you visit this place you will recall Life of Pie movie as it was shot here. Kids will definitely enjoy this place as they can take a ride in Joy Train. Zuka cafe Are you a chocolate lover? Then you must visit this place. Their mocha cake and chocolate pakoras are universal favorites.

Hi, Pondicherry is one of my all time favorite destinations. I would love to suggest you few places.
If you are looking for a peaceful, serene and spiritual getaway, do visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville and Matrimandir. Apart from this, you can spend most of your early mornings and evenings around Rock Beach , Auroville Beach and Serenity Beach. Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a beautiful church to visit.

Try to arrange your stay in Auroville. They offer stay in various levels. Rooms and dormitories are available. Staying in Auroville would be a different experience. You could also get an entry into Mathrimandir the next day if you could book an entry for the second day.
