As South Goa is not as popular as North Goa, its easy to find budget stays.

Palolem beach is the best place in south goa, there u can take shacks on rent of Rs 800-1200/- for one day. this lovely scenic beach holds atleast 2-4 km view of sea with lots of adventure like kayaking, boat ride, surfing and its very calm place with amazing food serving cafes and restraunts on the beach side. It is around one and half hour or say 60 km from the airport. from airport u can take a taxi of 800-1200 Rs. I would suggest you take beach side hotels or shacks or rooms then only you can enjoy THE PELOLEM beach. Take care have fun.
