Shacks are better be booked after visiting the place parth ... tourists will be less as u said and u can get shacks easily for a night or two ...

If you want resort type try Blue ocean sands resort with private beach or Sanskriti Resort. If you are ok for hostel type, go for Zostel, Which is cheap and best.
