Hey Rahul ! Shankarpur beach is another popular beach destination in Kolkata. ... Talsari beach is geographically located in Odisha state, not West Bengal but it makes for a perfect weekend drive from Kolkata. A perfectly secluded beach, Talsari is just about half an hour away from Digha beach. Happy journey.

Unfortunately, Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta) does not have any natural beaches since it is an inland city located on the banks of the Hooghly River, which is a distributary of the Ganges River. Kolkata is situated quite far from the sea coast. However, there are a few artificial beach-like destinations in and around Kolkata which have been created for recreational purposes. Some of these are: Nicco Park Beach - This is an artificial beach inside Nicco Park, a popular amusement park in the Salt Lake area of Kolkata. Eco Park Beach - Located inside Eco Park in New Town, Kolkata, this is an artificial beach with sandy areas and water bodies. Bakkhali Sea Beach - While not exactly in Kolkata, Bakkhali is a beach town located around 130 km from the city, along the Bay of Bengal coastline. It takes around 3-4 hours to reach from Kolkata. Digha Beach - Another popular beach destination, Digha is around 180 km from Kolkata and takes about 4-5 hours to reach by road.
