Hi Amanda, yeah it's right. the weather could be extreme at that time.. but if you want to go to spity valley you have to choose shimla-reckong pio-kaza root.. it will be open in almost all the time..
Yeah the weather will be extremely cold. There are other places in Himachal that you can go to.
Hey Amanda, I would for sure suggest you to visit Andamans as it will be cool and the best time to visit this little tiny peace of islands far from mainland of India .... The places of interest here are :- Andaman jail or veer savarkar jail Port Blair North bAy island Ross island Chidiya tapu beach Vandoor beach Naval museum in port Blair Havelock island Kalapathar beach Elephant beach Neil island Baratang island Scuba in Havelock or North bay is best ... snorkelling is also done here ... Hey Amanda, head to old Manali or kasol. see weather forecast for snow and plan your trip accordingly! we did so and witnessed first snow in 2016. else head towards andaman as winter is the best time visit it

Hi Amanda, December would be peak winters in India and there are chances that some of the places might not be accessible in Kashmir and Himachal during that month, almost all the trek would be closed. You can still visit Kasol, Mcleodganj, Manali and SHimla in Himachal. Sikkim and Andaman are great options, the weather would be perfect and you can explore all the areas.

Otherwise Kasol is good for solo travel.

I do not know from which country you are travelling. In winters dessert touring is spectacular specially Jaisalmer.

Try to explore yourself man - wherever you go . i suggest you to go on unplanned trip just decide whether to go Northern or southern part of India of India and rest of the things you will decide their only.
