Flights will be biggest expense. So keep a lookout for good deals. Fly to cheapest airport possible - usually Rome, Paris or Prague, but not always. Skyscanner is good for knowing which is the cheapest place to fly to. Accomodation: Mix it up with a lot of couchsurfing (google it), which is free accommodation and often includes access to a kitchen which means you can make your own meals and save some money there. Hostels in many European cities can be India-cheap - as little as Rs. 700 for a bed. Most hostels also have some kind of a self-service kitchen. Hope that helps!

Watch out for good return airfares on www.skyscanner.com , google flights. From India, generally entry into Europe through Paris, Rome, Milan are among the cheapest.
Chose your destination wisely. Eastern & Central European countries like Poland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bosnia & Hezegovina, Southern Spain ( Seville, Granada, Nerja) are quite cheap. If you find a cheap flight to Paris/ Rome, take a low cost airline like Easyjet/ Ryanair to get to the cheaper regions of Europe as mentioned above.
Eat prudently. Leave two streets near any major attraction and go where the locals go. Use airbnb, booking.com to stay. If you have access to kitchen, cook some simple meals at home. Get some wine from the supermarket and you are good to go. This way it costs much less. Read more below-
