Yes liquor is cheaper in pondy but don't carry any while leaving the place. There are multiple vigilance police check posts at TamilNadu border and you may be fined and liquor will be seized by the police at the border.

Yes pondicherry do have cheap liquor. There are a lot of liquor and wine shops in Bussy street and MG road.

I would suggest you go to a party which is will be held near Paradise Beach Island. I think that would be pretty nice and will be around 2k-2.5k. And Yes, Liquor price is cheap compared to other states in India. Since it's a union territory it has some tax benefits. Good Luck!!

Find out the nearest liquor shop to your resort. Many get caught by vigilance unknowingly, while bringing alcohol to their resorts, because Tamilnadu Pondy borders are overlapping at a few places. Not a single bottle is allowed to cross into Tamil Nadu border.
