Your both choice is good, now you decide if you want to go to see & feel goa beach or Pondicherry hill & falls. Choice should be yours. If, you ask my choice, i'll select Pondicherry, if not visited before.

That would depend on the purpose of your Journey. If you are looking for partying and having fun then Goa is the best option. But if you are looking for a Change of scene and looking for Calm and quaint place places(aurovile, Aravind ashram, etc) in Pondi are the best.

Goa is my all time favourite place and i have been there so will suggest you the same but i hv heard that pondicherrry is again a very beautiful place but as every one knows that you should visit Goa once in your lifetime then why don't you start with Goa....

Though both Goa and Pondicherry are beach destinations , both are quite different from each other . Goa is more of a happening , outgoing destination with lot more variety of experiences you can undertake .Whereas Pondicherry is a quite beach town with a French touch . You will get a accommodation to suit your budget at both the places. Similarly food would not be a problem at both the places . Again if you are considering connectivity , Goa is better connected through Train , airplane and buses . For Pondicherry you will have to take a train/ plain upto Chennai and drive down from there . However the drive from Chennai to Pondicherry is awesome . So if you want a party kind of destination head to Goa but if you want a quite calm holiday to soothe your soul head to Pondicherry . Nevertheless both are safe for solo travellers.

Pondicherry is amazing. I came back from a Solo trip to entire South India this December (New Year) and this trip included visit to Pondicherry, I was there for 4 days and just felt like it was such as short time but the best time from the complete trip, roaming around the city was such a pleasure, beaches are far better and clean than Goa. If compared to Goa, Pondicherry is less commercialized and can be an amazing getaway for the ones who are looking for some good options for Solo tripping. Regarding the cost, the major cost will be the hotels, but I will highly recommend a hostel, you can check out Droid, Gurukulam etc, these are really good and the charges for dorm room is seriously very cheap, You can have amazing time in Pondicherry in maximum 5-8K (including stay+food+travel+site seeing) for 3 nights 4 days. Highly Recommend Pondicherry

If you want to party and see Portuguese culture go to Goa. otherwise Puducherry is a good choice if you are a foodie and want to see influence of French.

Both are equally good places to visit, it depends on how many days you have? Goa is good for a 3-4 day trip and Pondicherry can be covered in 2 days. Pondicherry should be less expensive as compared to Goa.

If you are thinking about Goa then 20k is sufficient for more than 6 day's for single person in Goa there is no more expenses than water 😀

As a person who went recently to Pondicherry, I would suggest Pondi. Solo traveler cost is at max- 7k. It is a very pretty place.

It all depends on you both of place are paradise for beach lover. Pondicherry has 2 or 3 beaches, budget friendly and peaceful while Goa is the party hub. So choice is yours
