Both are good for solo travelers. In Goa you have a lot more places to see. Travel options to Goa are more compared to Pondicherry. But this also depends on where you stay.

Depending on where you are flying from the flight would be the most expensive part of the trip. Goa in off season is the place to go. and if you're a party person, December in Goa would be great. can finish Goa under 20k for 5 days with ease including a decent hotel and flight. Pondicherry would cost you around the same. the only difference being the time you go to visit

If you think about Goa , then it's good . it's really good but I can say that if you want to quality and decent site .b then you can go Pondicherry . it might be 15 to 20000 around

Both are good places.Both are obviously places of beaches,but Goa will be more peaceful than Pondissery. The climate over pondi will be more sunny as of now than Goa. Goa will be more expensive than Pondissery obviously. You may cost around 4k for two days of stay over there. And travel expenses will be another part depending upon where you are coming from. It is preferred to hire or rent a scooter or car to around,as the taxi and auto will charge you more than anything else. That's it. Have a safe and happy journey!

Pondicherry, I think is the best place for solo traveler. Little bit cheaper and small city so u can rent a scooty at 300 per day for travelling in the city.

Pondicherry because I feel goa should be a group travelling place. And about money that totally depends on individuals. But maximum of 10k is more than enough

I'm answering this as a pondicherry resident for over a decade.... please choose Goa. as much as pondicherry is hyped up as a french town, the reality is , it's a very underdeveloped city with glimpses of French architecture on a single part of the town. auroville is a great place to spend time with your family for one day. a lot of French restaurants and overly polluted beaches (only 2 good ones) pondy is not worth the hype. except for the unbelievably cheap booze there are no proper modes of transportation, no cabs, no places to explore around ..... please choose Goa...
