Firstly, Pondicherry is a very small territory and has a radius of hardly 10km. 1.Rock Beach
After the stroll at the beach, make sure that you try the coffee at Le Cafe, a famous coffee shop here. There are lots of places to visit in Pondicherry to enjoy the sound and mist of the sea breeze. 2. Arulmigu temple This temple is located close to Aurobindo Ashram and a couple of nice French cafes. If you’re around, do visit this temple 3.Paradise Beach The backwaters on the way to the beach are really green and have thick mangrove forests, will give you a thrill. The lush green leaves during monsoon will leave surprised with the beauty of the contrast in the colors you see. This is one of the pondicherry tourist spot.
For pondicherry, reach Chennai via train, flight or bus.
Day 1:
From Chennai start early in the morning, take a bus or cab to Mahabalipuram. Visit the Shore temple, Panch rathas, Krishna butterball and other places. Then take a bus to Pondicherry. Spend the sunset at Rock Beach and visit nearby markets and Church. Have some sea food in the dinner. Day 2: Rent out a bike in the morning. Visit Aurobindo ashram and Matri mandir, Promenade Beach, Sacred Heart Basilica, French colony and Auroville. My recommendation for food: Auroville bakery and Tantos pizza (must try) Day 3: Half day trip to pichavaram: https://www.tripoto.com/trip/a-half-day-natural-getaway-from-pondicherry-picchavaram-5c2385de31823 Then back to Pondicherry. Spend time for shopping in local markets. Happy travelling
