From the news itself, I have heard it will be police patroling and lockdown from 8pm till 6.am morning... Saw some more updates like these from other folks as well.

Should be cheap as less number of tourists.. comfortable stay can cost you between 2000-3000 INR. places to visit are many.. follow me and check my photoblog, in a day or two would be updating my goa trip

Reach Gangtok and ask a local cab guy to drop you to a hotel and then ask him only for sightseeings. He will arrange everything at a negotiable price which will be much cheaper than the bookings made through travel agents.
