You can choose any of the following options:
Flight: It will take around 1 hour to reach and the cheapest flight costs around Rs1,500. By Bus/Car: This route is quite pleasing. However, it can take around 12 hours to reach. Bus tickets for sleepers/volvo will cost around Rs 1,500. I would suggest taking a bus, since it drops you comfortably with the ease of enjoying a scenic journey with food stoppages. But if time is an issue, better catch a flight. You can take a train from Joginder Nagar too near Kasol, but it is not very convenient since you need to travel around 140km just to reach Joginder Nagar station.
I have been to Hornbill and its amazing. My suggestion will be that go towards the end of the festival. Its full of culture, performances, food, happy faces all around. You can spend 2days in the festival which takes place in Kisama village and then also cover Imphal: Loktak and Kangla if you wish to.. You will get few Dzukou travellers too but trust me Dzukou is best to be visited in Jul-Sep.
It is absolutely safe to travel solo there, even for a lady. It is a great festival, lots of cultural extravaganza.Yes it is safe to travel solo but make sure you are staying at Nagaland Tourism approved Hotel. (You can find it Nagaland tourism’s website)
Happy Journey

Andaman is an amazing place to go to, which is also not too expensive in my opinion. I was there for a week, though 4-5 days are also enough to explore most of the islands here. This website itself has many packages, and if any of them don't fit your budget, you can always do your own research. Here's an interesting itinerary I came across that might help you plan. Surely add Fatehpur Sikri. You can visit my photoblogs for Taj, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri. The place is amazing. Regarding guide, I guess you wont require any advance booking. If required you can get them on spot. For Sikri, you get an audio guide as you purchase the tickets. Regarding stay, we stayed in Crystal Sarovar. Cozy and affordable. You can surely go for it. Its near to Taj and opt for the rooms from where you can see Taj Mahal. Wonderful feeling..

For a short trip (weekend trip or long weekend), Rishikesh is a good place to visit from the plains. You can enjoy activities like rafting, cliff jumping, trekking and temple hopping here. Manali is ideal for a longer vacation (4-5 days or more). You can enjoy activities like paragliding, rafting, trekking and zorbing here or just enjoy a snow fall in the winters.
