Hi Karan,
I just moved to Kerala last month. And to be very truthful it is beautiful out here. The name God's own country could define it in a better way. There are a lot of places worth visiting in Kerala. You will have to decide according to the number of days you can spare and the budget. You can cover north Kerala (which is at present flooded) or the South Kerala in one stretch. If you are landing in Trivandrum, then the best places to visit would be Varkala beach, Ponmudi, Kovalam beach, Azhimala beach. From Trivandrum you can go to Alleppey and Wayanad via Kozhikode. However the nearest airport would be Cochi for those places and also flights are cheaper comparatively. If you want to cover the South Kerala best places to visit would be Munnar, Kumarakom Please DM if you have any further queries. :)

Drove from Bangalore to Yelagiri via Sarjapur, Kuppam covering NH-219. This will be a great, great trip if you like driving. Getting out of Sarjapur was a big trouble but once out it was a dream. Narrow roads passing through jungles but you will hardly get oncoming traffic. This road is called MDR456. Don't expect to be racing at very high speeds but 50 kmph should be good. Roads are not so smooth but flowing curves and scenic beauty driving along the river in a dense jungle where you won't find any human let alone traffic is a terrific experience.
For Check posts Karavalli, where you have to pay Rs 20 per head to enter the forest area. and there was no strict limit on the time. And try to avoid Bandipur route as the checkpost only open from 6am to 8pm.

Hey there,
try to take a flight as by road would be a problem due to recent landslides.
about most of the places being closed, as it's a off season and heavy rain it's quite possible that most of the Goa is closed down.
Winter clothes and Nathula pass permit are two things you should take care before going bcoz permit takes approx. 1 week to clear so better to call agents and arrange it in advance.
