There are lots of local hotels which might not be listed online... You can always find hotels over there for a cheap price if you go and enquire. if the time doesn't permit you can look online and book before

Monroe Island? You can go pretty much anytime man. It's mostly about the backwaters though and less about the actual island. I haven't been to the actual island only surrounding waters.

Are you referring to Ooty or some other place.... because Ooty is in Tamil Nadu....

If you are planning in midst of nature still near city, check out Hotel Darshan near Ooty lake, if near city center, shopping places or near Botanical Garden check places near Charring Cross, that is the central hub. For more of a nature and comfort check out Hotel Mount and Mist. I visited Ooty just 3 weeks back and stayed at Hotel Darshan per my requirement. Enjoy you vacation.

It's worth going there. but roads conditions are not good. otherwise it's all good and safe to go their. we stayed in Munnar club Mahindra. and property location was great.

It's totally worth the trip. A few routes have been affected because of the floods but its still accessible by vehicle. You can get a clear image of the devastation mother nature caused. But I would suggest that you go to Munnar in monsoon, it's truly heavenly. The weather now will be around 18-25°C.
