I think, North Goa has lot of places to visit but south goa has limited options.

Depends on what kind of fun you want in Goa. South Goa - Party spot North Goa - more peaceful, secluded beaches, historic towns/churches etc

As per my experience south Goa is best, its less crowded but beautiful, must visit beach is Palolem

Depend on what you want to do in Goa. North Goa- For beach parties, shopping etc. This part of Goa have comparatively more crowd than south goa. South Goa - If you are looking for peace or a place to make yourself calm, then you can go ahead with south goa. Beaches here have comparatively low crowd and you can definitely enjoy sunset with your favorite drinks with peace :)

If you want loud music unknown crowd and also crowded beaches, North Goa it is. if you want serene secluded hidden beaches, empty beaches, less of crowds. South Goa it is
