If are a party person north goa is definitely your place to be , but if you are one who loves to stay close to nature and explore then I would suggest South Goa . Both places has its own charm.

North Goa VS South Goa
North Goa is good for you if you want to be in crowd but if you prefer some alone time or a quiet walk on the beach then you must choose south Goa.
In South Goa, you'll find cleaner beaches which is cleaner than Baga and Calangute beaches. In north, Candolim, Vagator, Morjim, Arambol are much cleaner. Here you can see pretty sunsets and peaceful holidays. North is always for parties and young crowd. south is comparatively calm n less chaotic.
Calangute and baga is preferable for family and most happening place as well. People who are vegetarian then goa had many veg restaurants too.

Both are unique on their own way but lively North Goa is all about nightlife & shopping whereas South Goa has unblemished beaches scenic spots & tranquility.

North Goa. You get quite beaches as well as popular beaches, south Goa you might find it difficult in terms hotels to eat as it's completely residential types.
