Hi there, December end will be a good time to visit Rajasthan. Both in Jaipur and Jaisalmer the weather will be cold. But better than harsh and hot summer months where it will be too hot especially in desert area like Jaisalmer. The temperature in Jaipur will range between 10°c to 20°c + towards December end. Whereas Jaisalmer being a desert the temperature can drop as low 2-4°c near Xmas, so pack your winter clothes. Yes the days will be mostly sunny in both cities but cloudy at times. No rain though. Yes it's possible to see both these places in 4 days. But do remember jaipur and Jaisalmer has a lot to offer. There are so many places to visit and things to do. We had planned for 12 days Rajasthan trip in December end yet it felt like it was not enough to see the beauty of Rajasthan. We stayed 2 days each in Jaipur and Jaisalmer and still missed a few attractions. But if you want to cover only main attractions then it's possible. Also remember Jaipur is quite far from Jaisalmer. So unless you are taking flights to connect to other city it will take around 10 to 13 hours for bus and train journey respectively. Of course you can look for overnight bus/train and sleep through the night journey while saving some bucks. Most destinations across world are expensive during the end of year due to Xmas and New year celebrations. Same thing with Rajasthan. It is a popular tourist destination during year end for domestic as well as for international tourists. So most hotel and resort prices will be at its peak, at least for the popular and highly recommended ones. But with proper research through booking websites you can definitely find some accommodation in your budget. Food and other expenses will be just fine, not too costly. Entry fees for forts and Palaces are also above 150 or so. Keep that in mind. There are so many hostels in Jaipur and Jaisalmer, where you can find bed in dormitory for as low as 250 rs per night. Even single rooms are available for 500 inr per night. So yes you can find accommodation for every budget. So proper planning, some research and with a good itinerary it's definitely doable in 4 days. Btw jaipur itself has so many attractions, all of which are hard to miss. See what attracts you most and plan. Some best ones are Amer fort, nahargarh fort, jaigarh fort - these three are nearby. Then city palace, jantar mantar, hawa mahal, birla temple, jal mahal, Albert Hall museum, chandbaori, World trade park. All these in jaipur. In Jaisalmer you can visit Jaisalmer fort, gadisar lake, patwon ki haveli, vyas chhatri, barabagh temple, Jaisalmer dunes safari. Hope this helps you. All the best. Rajasthan is a dream destination.

I have been to Jaipur in Winter time, Actually it's not that cold in day time usually i think. I stayed there for two days and if you plan well, u can cover many of the forts and attractions within time. It can be cold but not like unbearable at day time.
