Hi, I haven't but I heard that there may be occasional wild life interfacing across as the area is rich in bio-diversity. You should be prepared for the climbs so expect some riding difficulty during the journey. otherwise it should be a wonderful ride.

The airport is not very far from the city. It takes max 30 mins to reach. You can leave 2-2.5 hrs before your departure from your hotel.

Hi, I would advice against taking your bike across as you are exposed vehicle import fees at the foreign country port. And you need to have insurance cover from the moment you land in. To not to engage in these complications, you are better with hiring a bike locally. I am sure there will be a few in colombo. If you still like to take your bike, you may check with the ferry company operating from Tuticorin harbour..I am not sure if there is a ferry between Madras and Srilanka...

Hey Saumiabee, If you are about to start the biking in the mountains, I will recommend to start with Kumaon region. Depending on the number of days in hand you can pick places from Chaukori, Binsar, Kuasani region. Then go for a ride in around Manali region in Himachal, ride towards Rohtang and be back. If you are really comfortable with these then next one you can plan for Himachal up to Kinnaur region and test. Finally, go for Spiti after couple of more rides :)

Hey Bhawna, Well, August is a month banned for me to travel in the mountains after some scary experiences in the past. Family has put a complete ban on my travels in August :D ... Still, I can suggest that you travel to Dharamshala - Mcleod Ganj, Palampur, Shimla - Chindi belt. Do check the weather for sure before heading out and in case of heavy rain predictions, please avoid.

The season starts from May-June and then continue to September October. Best time with more better road conditions will be September and you will enjoy up there. You will need about 5-6 days if planning from Manali side else 8-9 days if planning to do th full circuit.
