The Government of Maharashtra has passed an order stating that travelers from a few states will have to get a negative Covid report if they wish to travel to Mumbai. These states include Kerala, Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi.

According to reports, the Government has asked for a negative RT-PCR test done within 72 hours before departure. The order will be applied to all the passengers who are travelling via plane or train. Railway passengers are required to get tested within 96 hours before travel. If the railway passengers fail to show the report, their test will be conducted at the station itself.

Important: The Maharashtra government further maintained that those passengers whose test report shows positive results will have to be admitted to a Covid Care Centre. The expenses of this treatment shall be borne by the passenger.

Developed by Indian Council of Medical Research, a mobile RT-PCR lab for coronavirus testing have been installed in Mumbai that gives results within 24 hours.

In current times, Maharashtra has reported 4,092 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, with 40 Covid-related deaths. The health department stated that this has taken the State's infection tally to 20,64,278 while the death count stands at 51,52.
