Where the Ratanmahal is situated and how to reach?

Ratanmahal is a sloth bear sanctuary that falls in the Dahod district of Central Gujarat and is located very close to the tribal towns, Baria of Dahod district and Chhota Udepur of Vadodara district. This area was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in March 1982. The sanctuary falls on the border of Gujarat with Madhya Pradesh. The actual habitat of the Sloth bear, therefore, extends into Madhya Pradesh. The pristine beauty of forests in this small tract with rugged topography gives the feel of a hill station to wildlife enthusiasts.

Which places to visit in Ratanmahal?

There are two campsites in the Ratanmahal first one is udal Mahuda and the second one is the naldha campsite. Udal mahuda is a lake view campsite, there is a watchtower located too. While at naldha camp you can see a Waterfall after forest trekking of 5 km. There is a tabletop too where you can be at the peak of the sanctuary. You can spot a gliding Squirrel too in the forest at sunset time.

I have visited in August & went to the night trekking at udal mahuda campsites & I spotted many fireflies there.

What to do in Ratanmahal?

Forest trekking, observer wildlife, Waterfall hunting, Spot fireflies, stay in a treehouse, can spot gliding Squirrel ( if you are lucky ), Jeep safari to the tabletop.

What is the best time to visit Ratanmahal?

October to February.
