Do you fascinate to see the undersea world? Well, let me share you my experience of one of the best Scuba Diving spots in India - Netrani Island.
Situated in the Arabian Sea, this 'Heart shape' island is 19kms away from the Murudeshwar Beach, Karnataka. Dive bookings can be done from many vendors in Murudeshwar on the spot (make sure you reach the town early morning, around 7am-8am).
We booked the trip with Netrani Adventures, which costed us ₹5,000, that includes:
1. 1.5hrs motor boat ride from the beach (to the island).
2. Basic snacks: biscuits, oranges, bananas etc. on the way.
3. Life Jackets, Scuba Gears with 1 Oxygen Cylinder, technical teachings of the gears and other diving instructions (Sign Language, dealing with sea sickness etc.)
4. 30 People max on 1 Boat.
#Note: Please do litter in the sea, or anywhere throughout the diving session.
You are not allowed to disembark and enter the island. This is to protect the coral reefs and ecosystem of the island. Your diving begins from the boat. As soon as the instructor fits you with the gears, it's time to experience the undersea life (5 people goes in 1 batch). No need of the swimming experience here, the instructor revises all the things before taking you inside.
Dive height: 15-20 Meters
Coral reef with many varieties of coral, fishes: butterfly fish, trigger fish, parrot fish, eels, shrimps etc can be seen here. This different world will make you feel like dreaming with the eyes open.
Dive Time: 40mins
Scuba Video Charges: ₹300
One can also enjoy swimming and snorkeling in Arabian Sea after the dive, while other batches are going inside.

By Air – Mangalore & Goa airports
By Train – Konkan railway route via Mangalore and Vasco in Goa.
By Bus – Government and Private buses from other parts of Karnataka and Goa.
By Road – Excellent road connects Murudeshwar to Bangalore, Mangalore and Goa.
