Have you ever thought of a trip that boosts your adrenaline? Well I had one. Hey there it's Ayush and i am from Bihar well it's my first blog so i hope you like the content and any criticism will be appreciated. In this blog I am going to share my experience of a spiritual and one of the most blissful meditation retreats of Nepal. "Dwarika's Resort", Dhulikhel.

So it's 6th November 2019 at midnight me and my cousin were amusing about a road trip to Nepal. He impulsively booked a resort in Nepal named "Dwarika's Resort" and we all packed our bags and left our home at around 4 am. We started our journey at around 8 am because our driver ditched us at the last moment and we have to rearrange a new driver.

We crossed the Indo-Nepal border at around 1 pm and got to the hilly areas at around 3 pm. The curved roads leading to the other side of the hill made us fall in love with those valleys. We reached our destination at 9 pm. As soon we reached the resort they carried our bags to the reception and took us to the reception too for check-in formalities. They offered us a welcome drink which was warm and refreshing. They gave us the map of the resort and described us things to do in the resort. We got to our rooms. As we entered our room we ordered some food cause we were travelling for almost 12 hours and didn't have a proper meal. We had our dinner and went to our bed because we were all very tired and last night we slept for only 2 hours.

RESORT AND THE ROOMS :-

The resort focuses on the environment, ensuring an eco-friendly retreat and the buildings blends with nature as it was a part of it. The resort is very large and hilly but the views are astonishing, completely worth the walk. However, there are plenty of buggies to get you to your desired spot.

The rooms are mostly made of wood and give out natural and positive vibes, the window stretched the height of the room and the view was endless. The bed was absolutely heavenly, but if you need to take a nap during the day, the huge day bed watching over the endless mountains is the perfect spot. The bathroom was antique but equipped with all modern amenities. They had given us a scarf of a particular colour to represent the planet which guides the day.

I woke up at 6 am and decided to explore the resort on my own. When I got up from the bed I saw an impeccable view of Everest range from the window , I noticed an area with separate beds allotted with the respective room number to enjoy the view and bonfire.

HIMALAYAN SALT HOUSE :-

This was the entrance of this salt house. They always had an attendant to briefly explain about the place and its importance and by following their instructions you would feel some positive energy and mental peace.

There is also the option to attend art lessons, pottery classes, yoga and guided meditation throughout your stay.

Along with the treatments and sessions, you have the option to use the Meditation Maze, Chakra Sound Therapy Chamber, Garden of Nine Planets and swimming pool at your leisure.

FOOD :-

There are three restaurants here first one named “Krishnarpan restaurant” located near the pool and way to zero zone (Highest point of the resort). It serves traditional Nepalese food, with curries, dumplings and various accompaniments like wines and other cocktails. One can also have proper western meals as they serve multiple cuisines. One can choose whether he/she has to eat in the restaurant or outside the restaurant near the pool while enjoying the view. We ordered some steak sandwich, Panini, Pasta bolognese and for desserts we had orange cheesecake.

The most interesting restaurant was Mako’s Zen. The restaurant boasts the warm welcoming simplistic Japanese atmosphere, with the option to sit on chairs or on cushions on the floor. Mako’s Zen offers traditional Japanese food based on the Zen Buddhist diet of monks, focussing on clean simple living. The 7-course meal was vegetarian and had no garlic or onion.

The final restaurant, located near the lobby of the hotel services, a mix of Nepalese and international cuisine. The food is very well presented and pleasant. The menu varies every night with a few different options. One can have his/her breakfast as this restaurant offers a variety of options. You can enjoy your breakfast with an astonishing view of Himalayan ranges.

This resort has an infinity swimming pool with a scenic view of the Himalayas. Unfortunately the swimming pool isn’t heated, so it was far too cold for me to actually swim in!
