The Capital City of India, Delhi serves everything that a person wants in a city right from heritage, culture and traditional food to nightlife,clubbing and booze.

This blog features the places you need to visit if you are of the former category.

Tip : You need to wake up early in order to complete this itinerary.

Day 1

Qutub Complex is a collection of monuments and buildings of the Delhi Sultanate.

Qutub Complex include Qutub Minar, the Iron Pillar of Delhi, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Alai Darwaza, the Tomb of Iltutmish, Alai Minar, Ala-ud-din's Madrasa and Tomb and the Tomb of Imam Zamin as the major monuments.

This should be the first of your stoppages due to it's early timings. The location is also the nearest in this itinerary to the airport.

The most renowned of them is Qutub Minar at the height of 73 metres. There was a time when there was allowance for public to take the 379 steps circular staircase inside the tower to climb the top of the minaret. It cannot be done anymore though.

The world has been divided by land as well as religion. As time has passed the world has forgotten what religion once stood for.

The Lotus Temple is a worship place of Baha'i, a faith founded just 150 years ago. The Baha'i has its own thought process which is in accordance to this world.

The Lotus Temple, the latest of the constructions was built in 1986. It has a 27 petal like structures with three in cluster form for 9 entrances.

The temple also has an auditorium nearby for various performances that take place.

It's the center of Power. This is where the fate of the Indian Democracy is decided.

Rashtrapati Bhawan is emblematic of Indian democracy and its secular, plural and inclusive traditions.

The India Gate, is a war memorial located on Rajpath. Every year on the day of Indian Republic, a parade is marched from Raisana Hill in Rashtrapathi Bhawan to Amar Jawan Jyoti.

India gate is best witnessed at night time. The whole place is lit up. The place is flooded with people from all across the globe. Food fanatics enjoy the famous chuski, ice in a shape and flavours if you describe it bluntly. You would be mistaken though to think of it lightly. They only open after 10 pm though.

Red fort was the residence to the mughals for nearly 200 years. Every year on India's Independence Day , the Prime Minister hoists the Indian flag on the gate of the fort.

As the time has passed by a sound and light show has become a part of the tourist attractions in the evenings.

It's one of the largest mosques in India.

If you are on foot :

As you take the path to Jama Masjid, you are required to go through the markets. You observe all sorts of shops the place has. At the same time, you are saving yourselves from the vehicles on the congeseted roads of Delhi 6. You might also be asking people around where Jama Masjid is or you might be giving google maps a look. All of a sudden you see it then , there infront of your eyes you see what you came for- Jama Masjid.

Arguably the best kebabs in India are made in Delhi. The best kebabs in Delhi are made near Jama Masjid. And the best kebabs near Jama Masjid are made at Karim's.
