From Phi Phi we took a ferry to Koh Lanta – which involved a long wait in the ferry and quite a few hours of travel. From the Koh Lanta port the hotel van took another 45mins to actually reach the resort. Koh Lanta is an extremely peaceful island, away from the crowded party areas. Laid back, and full of self sufficient resorts at large distances – it’s meant purely to relax in. We were exhausted by the time we reached Anda Lanta (our resort), and not exactly enthused when we saw the number of lizards there. But when we complained to the reception, they actually came to our room with 5 people who caught multiple lizards and threw them out!Anda Lanta was right at the beach. This one had waves and rocks (unlike the earlier ones), but was still absolutely clean

Day 5: The 4 islands tour from Koh lanta was the highlight of the trip. It took us to 4 islands – Koh Ngai, Koh Kradan, Koh Mook and Koh Chueak in a long tail boat. We stopped at two locations for snorkeling. It was a bit disappointing snorkeling experience but the highlight of the tour was swimming 80 meters through the Emerald cave in Koh Mook island. It was pitch dark and the guide helped us find the way while swimming. After swimming, you come on the other side - a beautiful beach pond with cliffs one side and forest on other.

Of all Thailand's islands, Koh Lanta is one of the best all-rounders. Less than an hour's boat ride from Krabi, Koh Lanta is actually made up of several little islands, the most-visited of which is Koh Lanta Yai. If you just want to escape the crowded touristy spots, then this is where you should be - almost deserted, this beach has a few hotels and restaurants to cater your needs. Relax while suntanning on the beautiful beaches, enjoy a great massage, get drunk at the beach bars, and go for kayaking through a mangrove forest.Koh Phi Phi
