When you think of hill stations in Maharashtra, the same old names, Lonavala, Khandala, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Saputara come up. The high tourist numbers visiting each of these places have led to development. But even now, there remain hill stations in Maharashtra outside the tourist purview remain untouched, unspoiled and unexplored. One destination I'm touching on is very close to one of the most famous monuments in Maharashtra, and yet, doesn't get the attention it deserves.
Mhaismal, originally called as Maheshmal for the Maheshmal Village within the place.
Mhaismal, a small and charming hill station, is 39 kilometers north of Aurangabad City is nearest from Khuldabad or Ellora Caves. It is at the height of 1067 meters in the Sahyadri ranges. Girija Bhavani Temple here is very famous and the devotees in thousands throng here regularly.
