The Tren a las Nubes, that translates to "train to the clouds" is a heritage train service that connects Salta in the Argentine northwest with La Polvorilla on the Chilean border in the Andes mountain range over 4,220m (13,850ft) above mean sea level. It began services in the year 1948 and is one of the highest railways in the world. The train comes with a dining and bar carriage and has a capacity of 170 passengers. There are several stops along the way and some of them have markets selling artisan goods and locals offering regional cuisine.
