After spending almost 2.5 hrs. at the top, we came down to Klein Scheidegg, and bought tickets for Grindelwald (CHF 4.33-half fare price).Apart from Interlaken, Grindelwald is the largest village in the Jungfrau region that can be reached by car. It can be reached by train as well. The town center is situated along the Dorfstrasse, between the main rail station and the First cable car station, about 800m up the road. Outside of the town center, Grindelwald mainly consists of chalets in hilly meadows, spread out across a pretty large area.Grindelwald is one of those places you can visit all year round. In the winter there are lots of snow and winter activities while summertime is perfect for hiking. After spending like 2 hrs., we headed back to Lauterbrunnen. I know, spending even a week in this scenic village is not enough, but, that's the bargain sometimes needed to be done on account of paucity of time. All the swiss mountain villages ( like- Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen/Murren(more offbeat)/Wengen) are extremely beautiful . So, spend significant time in atleast one of this villages (in our case-it was lauterbrunnen) rather than hopping on/off everywhere. Please remember that it is not ticking any checkbox rather the experience in itself matters.
