Tarkarli Tourism and Travel Guide

Tarkarli is a village in Maharashtra and a beach unlike any other. Tall Shuru trees in the background followed by a narrow stretch of fine, white sand and crystal clear water make it the perfect location for a laidback weekend by the beach. On a perfectly sunny day, you can see through the calm and clear water of the sea up to a depth of 15 ft. The Karli backwaters on the other side are one of its kind in the state. The translucent water of Tarkarli makes it the only beach in Maharashtra suitable for scuba diving. This is also why the state's only scuba diving training centre is located here. Snorkelling is another option if you want to explore the glamorous underwater corals and fishes. The confluence of the Karli river and the Arabian Sea, Sangam, popularly known as the Devbagh Beach, is another spot that offers adventures sports such as dolphin and banana boat rides, jet ski and parasailing. Aimlessly walking on the shore would lead you to unexplored beaches such as Nivati and Bhogave. Besides the beach, the Ramnavmi Utsav in April is a sight to see here. Stay options here include the MTDC Resort and government-approved homestays.
