Wadi Rum
Let’s start from the top, literally. If you missed watching The Martian in 3D, here is the real deal. Skydiving in Jordan will effortlessly transport your imagination to another universe and is guaranteed to leave you teary-eyed, seeing the grandeur of our home planet. However, if plummeting towards earth at 200km/hr is not your cup of tea, get your adrenalin pumping by taking a Microlight flight for an equally surreal experience. For a more leisurely alternative, a hot air balloon ride allows you to enjoy an aerial view of each auburn fold and crevice across the landscape.

Weekend Getaways from Wadi Rum Village

One the world’s most ‘hipster’ cities with a wave of bars, luxury hotels, gourmet restaurants, boutique stores, and lively nightclubs, Tel Aviv is unlike its Middle-Eastern neighbors. Blessed with breezy Mediterranean weather, the beaches are exactly what you need on a city break. Swim the warm waters, lay on the soft sand, and walk along the coast from one beach to the next, while stopping for a quick cocktail or a mezze-style meal at one of the many restaurants that dot the area. In Tel Aviv, people are most likely to check out what you’re wearing. The city is home to a thriving fashion scene spearheaded by top designers.Best weather is May-June for beaching.

About Wadi Rum Village

Wadi Rum, Nature reserve is by far one of the greatest desert experiences I have ever had (Baring Jaisalmer, because Rajasthani for life *wink wink*). Described by Lawrence of Arabia as "Vast and echoing" Wadi Rum is an outstanding desert landscape. This remarkable landscape is a protected area, it covers over 700 sq. km. One can spend days and weeks exploring it. Wadi Rum is home to the Bedouins, a tribe known for their hospitality, craftsmanship and sweet tea. A lot of them earn their living via tourism in this area. My experience with them has been exquisite. A Large part of the desert is covered by red sand dunes, canyons, mountains and white sand. The fauna includes Syrian Wolf, Nubian Ibex and striped Hyena.
