But due to heavy rainfall, a week earlier to trip we were informed that the road to Dharmasthala and Sakleshpur has been blocked due to landslides. So we planned to Visit Hassan and it's nearby places. We started our trip from Bangalore at around 9 Pm, Friday night and we reached Hemavathi resort, Hassan at 1 am. Day 2: We woke up at 9am and in breakfast we had Akki roti and coconut chutney. First we went to visit Gorur dam. It’s very nice to see the dam with gates open. Water rushing through creating a cloud of mist and the view was spectacular. It is built on River Hemavathy in 1979 and It has total 6 Spillway Gates. Most important, It has a garden covered with a green lawn right next to the dam enhances the beauty of the atmosphere as well as the location.

We were lucky that we had permission to visit inside the dam area(From Friend's Friend, as he is working here.). After we got permission, we went to visit the other side of dam. It was full of rainy water and sky was covered with clouds. We enjoyed the awesome view of dam. It was feel like a peaceful place where no-one is there except you. After this, we visited back water area which was situated just 1 km from the dam. Really this place was barren land but nature was beyond description, only we 4 were there. We stayed for 30 minutes and captured the scenic view in our memory. After this we had some home made dinner.

Day 3: Final day of our trip, we started our day around 10 am. First we decided to visit Shettihalli Church which is described as top 10 haunted places in India. It was built in 1860s by French missionaries. The church is a magnificent structure of Gothic Architecture. Tourist used to come to view half submerged church during monsoon. It is also known as the Submerged Church or the Floating Church. When we visited in Dec-2016, church emerged in all its glory but this time we have witnessed that the church was submerged under water. Only the top was visible and the remaining was under water. Once in while, you can enjoy this scene.

And Finally we went to attend marriage and there we had dinner. After dinner, we started our trip back to Bangalore. Once in a while we must go out and enjoy the nature. Because now a days, we can't find nature's beauty in cities as it is converting into Concrete Jungle. "One's destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things" by Henry Miller. Let's hope that you enjoy our road trip.
