An Exotic Stay at Kumarakom Lake Resort
On our trip to Kerala, we chose to stay at Kumarakom Lake Resort which turned out to be a wonderful experience. The resort is conveniently located 72 kms from the Cochin International Airport and about 15 km away from the Kottayam Railway Station. A perfect blend of traditional Kerala along with modern amenities, this resort is a paradise in itself. The luxury accommodation extended to guest is in the form of Presidential Suites, Heritage Villas with Private Pools, Meandering Pool Villas, Heritage Lake Villas with Private Pool, Houseboat, and Luxury Pavilion Rooms. The open-roofed bathrooms are a common feature to the suites and the villas.
Kumarakom Lake Resort is also known as one of the premium luxury resorts in India. Spread across an expanse of 25 acres of lush greens, simply wandering about the resort is a pleasant feeling. There are a number of things to refresh your soul such as the infinity swimming pool where you can take a dip or simply soak yourself in, enjoy the breeze along with a Jacuzzi. My husband does not like to give up on his daily workout so he headed to the gym where the personal instructors guided him well. The infinity pool at the resort was beautiful where we enjoyed the Jacuzzi and the cool breeze.
We were never bored during our stay at the resort as there are a number of things you can engage in. Most of the famous tourist attractions are located in close vicinity to the resort which include the beautiful backwaters, the Vembanad Lake, and the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Many other picnic destinations are also quickly accessible from this place. One of the best highlights of the resort is the Ayurvedic treatments that are offered at the resort which helped us rejuvenate our senses. We also engaged in some Yoga and meditation which was a soulful experience.
At Kumarakom Lake Resort, we also enjoyed a host of complimentary facilities such as the buffet breakfast that we looked forward to each morning to the cultural programs and sunset cruise in the evenings. We even went on a houseboat, the arrangements for which are made by the resort itself. However, we had to pay a certain amount which also included breakfast, lunch, and dinner charges. With housekeeping service twice a day, all our requirements were taken good care of. We relished the evening snacks and traditional tea of Kerala at ‘Thattu Kada’. Overall, staying at Kumarakom Lake Resort was the best experiences of our lives and truly, we did not want to come back from there!
