South Goa is usually known for its peaceful and calm vibes. But did you know, that a short drive can take you to some of the most beautiful spots in South Goa? Read on to know more.
Volulim Falls
The falls is located 25 kms away from Madgaon. As you get closer to the falls, you will notice that the roads get narrower and the forest gets denser. The Google Map location ends on the main road. From that point, it's a short hike towards the falls.

As you hike down the trail, you will be able to see a narrow stream of water flowing. Follow the stream and you will reach the source of the falls.
The wasn't a lot of water flowing when I went there, since this was during end November 2024 (2.5 months after the end of the monsoon season). But it was definitely worth the ride!

Kayaking and Bird Watching on Sal Waters

Aqua Trails organizes both sunrise and sunset kayaking trips on the Sal Waters. The water does not have strong currents, making it perfect for beginners to explore the place at their own pace. One can spot several birds while enjoying the waters.

Colva Beach and Betalbatim Beach

Although I prefer chilling in Betalbatim Beach over Colva Beach, both beaches are as beautiful as they can get. Head to any one of these beaches for a swim in the morning. The tides are not very strong, making it nice and comfortable for a beginner to intermediate swimmer to enjoy the waters. Both beaches have a lifeguard watching people in the waters at all times, so don't worry about drowning.

Mon Petit Frère

If you find the food menu at the shacks on the beach not too appealing, then head to this lovely cafe from the beach towards Madgaon. Mon Petit Frère (meaning my little brother in French) is located on the Colva beach main road. The cafe has a lovely natural ambience, where one can enjoy a hot cup of delicious Vietnamese coffee while soaking in the sun along with getting a green therapy.
