Childhood is often considered to be the happiest time in a person’s life. During this period, one discovers and learns new things practically every day. Each event causes a storm of emotions, enthusiasm, and curiosity. Moreover, people tend to forget dark episodes and concentrate on the positive ones. Nostalgia for the past changes its perception. That is why it is not complicated for a person to name at least several amazing experiences that happened in one’s childhood. I am no exception. Thus, I would like to share one of my favorite childhood memories with the readers.

When I was in 6th grade, my mother and sister took me back to China on vacation. The plane landed in Beijing. I have never been to China before, so I was very excited to meet all the members from my mother’s family. One day we decided to go shopping. After several hours, I wanted to visit the restroom. Back then, I could not read Chinese. I was puzzled when I approached the restroom, as there was no sign indicating the male and female restrooms. After several seconds of hesitation, I decided to enter the left-side bathroom. There were many girls chatting with each other. When they saw me, the silence filled the room. We stared at each other for a couple of seconds. I decided to run out before they would start screaming. When I came back to my family, I told them this story. They laughed at me and made me blush. My sister even told me that I should have stayed there and said that I was gay in order not to cause panic among girls.

In conclusion, I wrote this with article with a help of writing prompts for middle school. This memory is very funny, yet represents a nightmare for me. I still check the signs several times before I enter a restroom.
