Day 1

I was in Gandhinagar for some official work and after the work my Bedouin soul craved to explore Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat. Gandhinagar is well planned city on the outskirts of Ahmedabad and its huge structures and wide roads gives the feel of Chandigarh. So I decided to visit the famous Mahatma mandir or Gandhi Kutir a museum on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a huge building in a shape of reversed cone and looks nice. Nearby is a huge auditorium for national and international events and a big Swarnima park. So I entered the museum by taking a ticket of ₹10 only. Every half an hour a new batch of visitors enter. It’s not a typical museum, they provide headphones with sensors which automatically starts when you reach near a portrait or structure. The full lifetime of Mahatma Gandhi is shown here with murals, paintings and 2-3 short films and it is very informative. After half an hour I came out and in the premises there are some souvenir shops, a library, book shop, khadi shop and snacks bar which serve freshly cooked Gujarati food and snacks. I tried the Dalvada and believe me it was delicious ???? with that pudina sauce. Then I headed to the famous Akshardham temple which is built after God swaminarayana. It is a big temple with sprawling lawn and built with sandstone in Jain temple style. There are rides for children and a show on the life of revered god Swaminarayan in a museum and it just create the whole life journey of him. And the effigy which depicts his settling in Gujarat looks like a live human being and one thinks that a drama is going on. It took 2–2:30 hours And in the last the best is the laser show named as ‘Sat chit ananda’ which is the world’s first Vedic laser show. It starts in the evening at 07:15 hours. It was magnificent and so beautiful and sterling that one just lost in The beauty of it. I will suggest if you are not a temple goer you just visit for the laser show and you will not be disappointed.

Day 2

Next day I went to a nearby place named as Adalaj. In Adalaj there is an old five story stepwell which is worth seeing. The old stone carvings on the red sandstone and the pillared storey make it beautiful. After spending an hour I visited the nearby Trimandir which is mainly a Jain temple but also have temples of other gods and gives message of secularism. It is also a big structure with three temple shapes dome. On the return journey I visited the indroda nature park. It is showing the various species of dinosaurs with huge statues and explanations about their origin and extinction. It contains an in-house botanical garden and a zoo. And here in the zoo first time I saw the white peacock and white dear and yes it was a good experience to see those milky white beautiful creatures. I called the day off and returned in the evening with some more information and beautiful memories.
