Horsley Hills - a perfect day road trip with your friends and family to series of hills is all you need at times. Horsley hills is known as Andhra Pradesh "Queen of hill stations". It is located in Chittoor district of AP which is approx 3.5 hr of journey from Bangalore. Winter in Horsley starts from December and lasts till February. The series of hills is of highly attraction for tourists, best fun activities, resorts and hotels located at the destination. Morning ride is amazingly beautiful one with greenery, lush grass and cloudy climate with chilling weather.

We decided to visit Markandeya Hills on saturdasy morning and have lunch on the way in one of the Dhabas and back to Bangalore. Then at midnight one of our friend in our group suggested lets go to Horsley Hills and stay overnight. It will be a very good break from day to day workloads and it will be fun for kids too. At midnight we have finalized the plan and early morning woke up and packed our clothes and stuffs for a night stay.

Roads are too scenic and in good conditions until Madanpalle. There is some road constructions going on in this roads which is little confusing. After reaching Chintamani we stopped for a chai break and we had Irani chai which was too awesome. After driving down for 3.5 hrs we reached our cottage around 1 PM. Our cottage guys had already made lunch for us and it was proper Andhra spicy yummy food.

After few minutes of resting we started for sightseeing. First point was Zoo which was quite decent with few animals like Monkeys. Ducks, Rabbits, Deers, Ostrich & some birds. The Zoo area is surrounded by big big trees and definitely a very good place for photoshoots. Next stop was a nearest walkable viewpoint.

last stop was to trek up some steps which is quite tiring but worth the place . Sunset from this place is amazing. Place is little risky for kids as its a mountain cliff and only big big rocks.

Came back to our cottage and had much needed Tea with some biscuits and rest for sometime. After 1 hr one of the proptery guy called us ofr the campfire. This property is situated on the cliff and the view from the bedrooms are breathtakingly beautiful. We had an amazing campfire night under the starry nights and enjoyed sitting and chilling with the wind. A must visit during the night, the Gaali Banda (Wind Rock)... The winds blowing at really high speeds, its fun to have a good party at one of the sitting areas of the view point. Later had a scrumptious Chicken Biriyani in dinner and slept well.

Woke up at 8am and hurried up for the breakfast by the property caretakers. A really good breakfast which was Pooris ,Dosas & Idlis with curry, sambar & chutneys. Explored the hill for an hour after breakfast when people started coming in for the weekend (Saturday morning). Clicked a lot of pictures in the hills.

Overall a good place if you are looking for a quieter outing from Bangalore and wouldn't want to head to Coorg or Chikmagalur. At 150 kms from Bangalore a place to visit for a quick one day stop.
