While travelling from Mumbai to Nashik I encountered numerous waterfalls and lush green mountains. After reaching Kasara ghats from Mumbai, I took a detour to Ashoka waterfall, also known as the Vihigaon waterfall. The waterfall is about 9 metres high. Ashoka waterfall is around 116 km from Mumbai and 58km from Nashik.
If you want to enjoy your ride and can not decide where to go or explore, your search ends here. During the monsoon Kasara ghat (कसारा घाट) looks no less than a heaven. Surrounded by lush green mountains covered with clouds makes it a perfect monsoon destination. Make sure you ride/drive carefully as I encountered landslide-prone areas and recently It was news that the place had severe landslide recently.
Just after crossing the Kasara ghat and taking a glimpse of Vihigaon falls I entered Igatouri. Igatpuri hill station is surrounded by Sahyadri mountains that include famous Kalsubai and Harishchandragad peaks. I have never seen any place like this. Igatpuri is all about clouds. Igatpuri is around 121 km from Mumbai that can be covered on a bike or car in just 3 hours.
Voila! Here I reached Nashik from Mumbai in just 4 hours.
