My heart skips a beat when I think of you

My heart skips a beat when I think of you,

The meandering river,

the flocking birds,

the canoeing boats –

just took a pause,

for me to skip that beat and hear you speak.

.

The purple blinds

the cooing hens

the swaying leaves

and the rustling wind –

they all took a pause for me to feel your lips curling up into a smile.

.

The clouds moved swiftly,

The bells rang deliriously,

The electric guitar strum to bass,

I felt my world spin,

When I knew you are the one…

.

I sensed the breeze touch my face,

And succumbed to the neon streets shine brighter,

Watched the fountains stand still

And felt my mind go blank,

When I let my heart lean into you…

.

And when the time hit the usual rhythm,

All my senses were heightened,

Romance sinking upon us,

When the angels whispered “this is it”, The accomplished smile lit your gorgeous face,

My world went spinning backward again, for me to skip that beat…
