Well your query for Mathura-Vrindavan during holi festival ends here.
It's a one day journey.
Reaching Vrindavan is very easy from Delhi, the fastest way is by road take a bus and you are good to go.
But right now I am travelling from Agra took a bus for Chatikara Mod (that's entrance for Vrindavan)
Here I am heading to fill my eyes with color of joy and happiness in The Bankey Bihari temple and iconic ISKON temple.
"Oo goriye udde re gulal"
Ok if someone comes to mathura come to goverdhan mod and set your self to parikrama(a round about walk) of 7 kosh i.e. 21Km.
Here is some mythological fact:
Known as Govardhan or Giriraj it is the sacred center of Braj and is identified as a natural form of the Lord Krishna himself.
To reach goverdhan temple(i.e. originating point of parikrama) you have to take a auto/bus that will charge you Rs 15/20 to reach your destination.
Begining with the parikrama you can walk believe me it's not that difficult just chant "hare Krishna hare Krishna krishna krishna hare hare ,
Hare ram hare ram ram ram hare"
And these 7 kosh will feel like 700mtr walk to you.
And else you can take a battery operated rickshaw that will charge you just 70 to 100 per person.
And still you can have your parikrama
But I suggest you should do on foot and you could enjoy the people here seriously they are fun loving people.
Then just take a bus/auto back to the bankey bihari temple, Vrindavan and here the scene of holi begins.
These narrow lanes in a zig zag pattern will guide you to the place and people will throw water towards you. It's a welcoming gesture during Holi(festival of colours)
The whole temple floor is flooded with gulal(colored powder) and the whole scene is most joyous place on earth.
People can't recognize with whom they come and the best part is here no one can show there true colour because all of us are coloured in joy and happiness.
After this take your self to dance on the feat of "Hare Krishna" chant in the Iskcon temple just about a kilometer ahead of The bankey bihari temple you can take a auto but I preferred walking.
In the Iskcon temple dance like there is no one watching you except Lord Krishna himself
Imagine yourself coloured and grooving yourself on the enchanting music and beats.
Sound amazing ? Right ?
So what are you waiting just take your belongings and your personal protective equipment with you and jump right into the holi festival of the city mathura.
