Accents and languages have fascinated me for a very long time! Growing up, I had an Indian accent, but it changed drastically when my family made a move to the US, when I was eight years old. Knowing that it was never going to be a permanent move, after living there for ten years, we made the move back to India in 2011.
Till today, the culture shock has not been easy, despite being an Indian myself. It's been a ride to say the least. I've been made fun of and/or antagonized mostly because of the way I speak. I have learned now to figure out how to deal with it in a fun and light-hearted way.
So today, I share with you my experiences through my first video on ThatGlobalDesi, a channel on an Indian girl's take on the world after life abroad. Subscribe and stay tuned for more!
