Earlier on my 'Coonnoor' travelogue I mentioned of 'Destiny Farm Stay' Ooty. This stay was part of that travel. We boarded to Destiny after our refreshing stay at Coonnoor. We had booked the car from Sunvalley Homestay. Secluded from the strained life of a city, 'Destiny Farmstay' can still be considered as a virgin, untouched dale at the lap of the Nilgiris. A stay with a perfect synthesis of a farm and wildlife. While the route to this haven was pretty tiring but once you enter the premise, you get to know about your destiny; come on guys....I mean a ravishing destiny!
The stay offers you a bouquet full of activities, adventures, luxuries, comforts and even what is not there in your imagination. Either you indulge yourself with out door activities like horse riding, bonfire, fishing, rappelling, valley crossing, trekking, strolling down to the lake and indoor activities like table tennis or you just do nothing and eat and see and pray and love! Yes I literally mean it.....when the clouds crosses the ranges, when it showers in the lake and make your soul dancing you could only feel eternity! You may even go and hear the song of one of the restaurant boy and get lost in your dreams or see the birds (I don't even know some of those species) chirping, soothe your eyes with the vast flora and the fauna....Or get a spa just to add on to your rejuvenation!
The farm animals......the horses, the cows, the sheep couple, the geese.....they all were an entertainment to my then 2 years old son....he loved watching the slow and funny activities of the sheep couple.
We were given the room 'Carl Linnaeus'. This Swedish gentleman was a renowned botanist, zoologist and physician. Almost all the rooms/ cottages are christened on some famous personality's name and who were somehow related with nature and its offsprings. With full of modern luxurious amenities it was still very much natural in its approach. Don't be scared if you see a frog jumping there around the nooks of your room. It's so very natural. From the huge balcony, the view of the lake and the shadow of the mountain on the lake was just lovely. They arranged a bonfire for the inmates and it was very warming as during the night the temperature fell. For the food, very tasty and it came in variance.
We had a night stay and we utilized it fully to our heart's content...and why not? These experiences come like miracle!
This Destiny Farm Stay comes under 'The Littleearth Group'. You can check their websites (http://www.littlearth.in/). Perhaps you may find it a bit costly (even we did while booking), but once you experience a holiday here, you sure wouldn't mind!
As for the weather it was pleasant throughout the day but the night was chilling.
