You need to reach Gobindghat in Uttarakhand to start your trek to Valley of flowers. Delhi to Dehradun, Dehradun to Joshimath, Gobindghat is an hr drive from Joshimath. Mid July to September is the season to visit. Regarding stay if you are taking a trek package it will get covered.

From Delhi you can choose a bus or hire a cab as mode PF transportation to Govindghat. Then u need to trek nearly 19km to reach valley of flowers. Best time to visit is during moonsoon but prefer end of August for your travel as rainy season makes the trek more difficult.

Its monsoon here in uttarakhand now, so going towards joshimath would be not preferable. you should plan your trip around mid august when monsoon is in descending phase. Your route will be Delhi - Haridwar(check out utconline for uttrakhand bus timings) - Joshimath(will be an overnight stay at joshimath) - Shared jeep to Govinndghat (1 hr) - 11-12km trek from govindghat to ghangaria - overnight stay at ghangria - then next morning 3km to valley of flower. you can come dow on same day or you stay 1 more day and visit hemkund sahib which is also 4km from ghangria.

Delhi to Haridwar( 200 km ) You can go to by a bus, train, and taxi · Haridwar to Govindghat(300 km) you can go by a bus, taxi or own car. · Govindghat to Ghangaria (14 Km) You can go by trekking, by Pony , by Palki or Porter and Helicopter. If you go by trekking it takes 8 to 10 hours and you should start not later than 7.00 a.m. in the morning. By Pony It takes approximately 4 hours By Porter or Palki If you are accompanied by children or some senior citizen you can use porter or palki. A single porter can carry a person weighing less than 55 kgs. · Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers (6 km) you can go by Trekking and Porter only. Pony are not allowed inside Valley of Flowers. So you need to trek only and you can use palki for children or elderly people but Palki go only upto 3 kms. The Valley of Flowers is only open from the beginning of June until the end of October as it's covered in snow the rest of the year. The best time to visit is from mid July to mid August

Route for valley of flowers is the same that leads to Badrinath midway you will find a Gurudwara Hemkund sahib where u can stay at and feed on langar and even contribute there.

The Valley of Flowers is only open from month of June until the beginning of October, as it's covered in snow the rest of the year. The best time to visit is from mid July to mid August, when the flowers are in full bloom after the first monsoon rain. HOW TO REACH:- 1- Reach Delhi to Haridwar. You can reach Haridwar from Delhi using Private taxi, AC Volvo bus, train or by air. To reach by air you need to reach up to Dehradun airport first and then drive to Haridwar. 2- Haridwar to Auli / Joshimath / Govindghat. From Haridwar you need to drive to Auli / Joshimath / Govindghat. You can stay at any of these places as they are nearby. Total distance 275kms – 300 kms time taken will be 10-12 hours. 3- Auli / Joshimath / Govindghat to Ghangaria. You need to first drive to Govindghat if you are not staying there. From Govindghat drive to Pulna Village for 4 kms in separate vehicle, your vehicle is not allowed. From Pulna its a moderate trek to Ghangaria for 10 kms. You can get Helicopter or Pony or Porters from Govindghat to Ghangaria. 4-Ghangaria to Valley of flowers and back to Ghangaria. Full day trek of 10- 20 kms depending upon how deep you go. Start early to explore deepest parts of the valley of flowers. You need to be back by 5 pm as per forest department rules.
