For traveling solo.. U are required to explore those places which are more safe.. I recommend you to travel Bhutan.. It's very safe for everyone as people there are quite helpful n honest...
It's also easy for you to reach Bhutan via border crossing.. First u have board a train/bus from Kolkata to Alipurduar then take bus from there to Jaigaon which is border Town..
Recently i made a solo trip to rishikesh where i met a couple of girls who were on their first solo trip. Its a pretty safe destination and you can easily spend upto 4 days. Try staying at zostel , they arrange trekks , food tours etc everyday.
So since first trip first decide which place you wana go with in India or international make a itinerary. what al to see and what all to do. goa, kerala, mumbai, bangalore etc. are good choices in india. if abroad for first timer i can say malaysia, singaore thailand is a good choie. if anything regarding these laces either see my travel write up or just msg for mre help.
Go for some place where you feel comfortable or its on your wishlist
Inform few people back home about your whereabouts , so that there is a backup. Carry charges and sufficient money and important medicines if any best places to go for solo trip from KOlkata arr :
If you intend to travel within india...you shud look for places closer to kolkata to build confidence as a first time solo traveller i.e.places in north east india shud be fine...darjeeling,sikkim.etc.
For outside india you should think abt Bhutan as an option.
Hi Stuti, First of all, its good that you are travelling solo. I would recommend you Pondicherry as your first spot for solo travelling. Once you get the hang of it, you can then easily travel to other places
As you belong from Kolkata, then you can visit Daringbadi (Odisha)..250km away from Bhubaneswar and 130km away from Brahapur.
Actually I'm also belong from Howrah and I just returned yesterday from Daringbadi. If you want to go solo, then it would be a great experience for you. No mobile network working there except Jio, BSNL, Airtel. Cost will be 11000/- for a solo Traveller. You can think about it, or you can go for Darjeeling. cost will almost same. Be a Responsible Traveller 😊
Why don't you think of going some place close but still somewhat of an adventure? I would recommend Sri Lanka to be the perfect first solo trip! Its affordable, fun, people are friendly and there's so much to do!
Hey Stuti, Great that you are planning to travel Solo. The easiest to start from Kolkata would be either Darjeeling or Puri in my view. From Puri you can visit chilika Lake, Konark Temple and another train ride to Visakhapatnam if you feel like.
I have recently done my 2 solo trips one to Rajasthan
5. Pushkar one to Himachal 1.kasol
