Hello! the shekhawati zone including jhunjhunu, sikar have really wonderful hawelis, which are so underrated, especially Nawalgarh, jhunjhunu. Banswara and dungarpur are kind of hidden gems of rajasthan, yet less spoken by travellers. Banswara has hundreds of icelands there and is comprised of beautiful small villages. apart of these,Bundi and jalore are no less to explore. I am from Bikaner and the delicacy here is topnotch.

Hey neeva, i would suggest you do visit udaipur, jaisalmer , jodhpur and pushkar for sure....there are plenty of things to do in each of these city but i would suggest do walk around as much as you can because that's how you catch a city's vibe best. For stay check out hostels like moustache ( which is my fav), gostops, trippr, there are plenty of them or homestays as you are staying for longer you might get that on sharing basis and you will also have an option for homely food.

Just came back from Rajasthan road trip. Loved Jaisalmer the most. Search for the desert Odyssey at Kuldhara. Loved the stay. it's outside jaisalmer right next to the ruins at Kuldhara.

Buses & taxi available in January from shimla. but it's all depends upon weather.
upvoteUpvotemessageComment
To reach Spiti valley from Shimla, there are buses till Kaza, then from Kaza there are two buses to Shimla. If you are driving from sangla via Nako you reach Spiti. From what I enquired it takes three days to reach Spiti. Since you will be travelling on Hindustan Tibet highway don't miss out on the picturesque views. All through January there is snowfall kindly check if the roads are open to travel despite snow.
